Challenges welcome!

Our History

In 1977 the Sullivan family expanded their farming operation and bought more land in the central valley. They grew everything from cattle, sugar beats, cotton, alfalfa, tomatoes, barley… you name it! Soon after, Mike Sullivan realized his need for a right angle gear drive for their pump so he traveled to Arizona where he met Bill Killingsworth  – an extremely educated engineer who built right angle gear drives for engine driven pumping applications because he realized that out of the box solutions didn’t apply when it came to farming.

With Bill’s engineering expertise and Mike Sullivan’s innovative and entrepreneurial expertise a solid partnership was established and they started Killingsworth Sales and Service with the promise to take personal care for every application. Within that year, Bill agreed to sell the company to Mike and moved the operation to Coalinga, California. Killingsworth Gear moved to Tranquility, then in 1984 eventually landed on Whitesbridge Road, where it stands to this day.

Since Killingsworth Gear started, we’ve kept up with the times and new technologies – but one thing has remained the same… our promise to always come up with the best solution for each individual operation we serve.
